Supporting Healthy Aging

Why Senior Dog Preventive Care Matters

Senior dogs often experience gradual changes in organ function, mobility, weight, appetite, dental health, and behavior. Routine preventive care helps us identify those changes earlier and make recommendations that support comfort and quality of life.

🩺

Monitor Age-Related Changes

Regular examinations help track changes in weight, mobility, dental health, skin, appetite, behavior, and overall condition.

🔬

Detect Concerns Earlier

Advanced senior laboratory screening can reveal changes in organ function, thyroid health, urine, blood cells, and parasite exposure.

💚

Support Quality of Life

Early recognition of change gives us more opportunity to support comfort, mobility, nutrition, and healthy aging.

Senior Dog Wellness Foundation

What Is Included

The Senior Dog Wellness Membership includes preventive services designed to monitor your dog more closely as they age.

🩺

Two Preventive Care Examinations

Your senior dog will receive two comprehensive preventive care examinations during the membership year.

These visits allow our veterinarians to monitor weight, nutrition, dental health, mobility, skin, heart, lungs, behavior, comfort, and other changes that may develop with age.

Two Additional Examinations

The plan includes two additional examinations that can be used as needed during the membership year.

These visits may be helpful when a new concern develops or when your dog needs to be examined between scheduled preventive visits. Diagnostic testing, treatment, and medications are separate unless specifically included in the plan.

🔬

Senior Diagnostic Screening

Senior diagnostic screening provides a more complete evaluation of your dog’s internal health and helps identify changes that may not be visible during a physical examination.

The screening includes:

  • Blood chemistry panel
  • Complete blood count
  • Thyroid testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Heartworm test
  • Intestinal parasite fecal examination

These tests help evaluate organ function, blood cells, thyroid health, urine concentration, heartworm exposure, and intestinal parasites.

🛡️

Distemper/Parvo Vaccination

The membership includes the recommended Distemper/Parvo combination vaccination when due during the plan year.

This core vaccine helps protect against several serious infectious diseases, including canine distemper and parvovirus. Your veterinarian will recommend vaccination based on your dog’s age and previous vaccine history.

💧

Leptospirosis Vaccination

The plan includes the recommended Leptospirosis vaccination for the membership year.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that can affect the kidneys and liver. Dogs may be exposed through contaminated soil, standing water, or urine from infected wildlife and other animals.

🐕

Bordetella Vaccination for the Year

The plan includes the recommended Bordetella vaccinations for the membership year.

Bordetella vaccination helps protect against one of the common causes of infectious respiratory disease. It is especially important for dogs that visit grooming facilities, boarding facilities, daycare, training classes, dog parks, or other environments where dogs gather.

🏷️

Rabies Vaccination

Rabies vaccination is included when due during the membership year.

Rabies is a fatal viral disease that can affect both animals and people. Maintaining current vaccination protects your dog and helps meet local legal requirements.

🐾

Included Nail Trims

Nail trims are included as part of the Senior Dog Wellness Membership.

Regular nail care helps support comfort, traction, balance, and healthy movement, especially for dogs experiencing age-related mobility changes.

Flexible by Design

Build the Right Plan for Your Senior Dog

Senior dogs do not all age in the same way. Their preventive needs may vary based on breed, size, mobility, dental health, medical history, lifestyle, and ongoing health concerns.

Our team will help you select the included foundation and optional services that best fit your dog’s current stage of life.

Easier Budgeting

Convenient Monthly Payments

Senior preventive care may include multiple examinations, advanced laboratory screening, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and dental care during the year.

Tailwaggers Wellness Club spreads the cost of the selected services across monthly payments according to the terms of your membership.

Care That Fits

Adjust the Plan Up or Down

Begin with your senior dog’s preventive-care foundation and add appropriate options based on your veterinarian’s recommendations and your family’s preferences.

The goal is to provide the care your dog needs without placing your family into a rigid package that does not fit.
